Room To Read

A few months ago I heard John Wood, at a Power Within event, speak about the "Room to Read" organization that has set up more than 36,000 libraries in third world countries. In a few years millions of formerly illiterate young people will be reading - and WRITING. We will look forward to their stories!

People Who Belittle

Mark Twain said:
"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions.
Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel
that you, too, can become great."

Writing Under Pressure

"Work expands to fill the amount of time available to do it" (Parkinson's Law).
Writing under the pressure of time constraints works. Otherwise it is easy to procrastinate - and perhaps never get your great novel written.
For writers who haven't heard of National Novel Writing Month I highly recommend it. Writing a 50,000 page novel in 30 days is fun and you can do it! There are no prizes except the recognition of the achievement. There is no time for procrastination - you get it done!
Later, with revisions you may find your 50,000 words are like an outline and you can "flesh out" your story into a longer, more complex novel.

Fairies in My Garden

Fairies in My Garden is a new Fantasy Novel about a fairy named Mabel.
While meditating in her garden, Jessica, a middle-aged woman, happens upon Mabel, one of the fairies who have been assigned to care for the plants, stones and insects in the garden. Mabel introduces Jessica to a whole new world - one in which elves have a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and where the spirits of trees and rocks can communicate with people.
This is a book that will appeal to people of all ages.
